Desktop Publishing Courses

Kensington College offers evening courses (6pm-8.30pm) covering Quark Xpress in four 2.5 hour sessions at a cost of £195.00. All courses are run at our central London campus, in tree-lined Bloomsbury Square.

What is Quark Xpress?

Quark Xpress is the industry-leading software for design and layout, more commonly known as desktop publishing. Used by graphic designers and amateurs alike, this software allows you to design anything from a school newsletter or poster to a national newspaper or a book.

Requirements for the Desktop Publishing courses

Students with little or no Windows experience should first attend a preliminary session on Windows and Mouse control at an extra charge of £45.00, which can be arranged at a convenient prior to commencement

The first session

Covers introductory level and aims at achieving the basic techniques in producing a completed page of Desk Top Publishing work including the importance of text and pictures.

The second session

Covers advanced topics such as Style Sheets, Master Documents and Libraries with the aim of producing mulit-page documents in Quark Xpress.
